Physically challenged high jumper Gilbert Ampiah has left Ghanaians in awe after videos of his incredible jumps at inter-houses games surfaced online.

In the videos shared by X user @ygyesie, Ampiah's first jump for his house sent the students at the stadium into a frenzy.

He pulled off another stunning jump with the bar set higher than the first, which stunned his competitors and earned applause for his brilliant execution.

Despite his condition, Ampiah's talent amazed many Ghanaians on social media, and many labelled him a potential medal-winning athlete for Ghana.

The Communication Director for the Ghana National Paralympic Committee (NPC), Saddick Adams, in reaction to the trending video, indicated that he has informed the NPC chairman about the "potential world beater."

"I’ve just sent this to the Paralympic Chairman. He’s a potential world beater with the right support," he wrote in a quoted tweet.

Gilbert Ampiah was born in Ekumfi Atwa in the Central Region and currently studies at St. Augustine’s College (Augusco).

According to a documentary by TV3 in 2023, Ampiah was born with a defect in his right leg and is the only physically challenged person in his family.

In the documentary, the talented jumper said he dreams of representing Ghana at the World Para Athletics Championships.
