Asante Kotoko's livewire, Sogne Yacouba has been handed his maiden national team call by Burkina Faso head coach Paul Duarte following his sparkling performances for Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The 28-year-old has been in tremendous form scoring two goals in the group stages of the competition as well as creating several goals for the Reds.

The lanky forward who joined the Ghana Premier League side from Stade Malien impressed the technical handlers of the Stallions of Burkina Faso and the 27-year old could make his debut for the West Africans when they play Mauritania on March 22nd.

Burkina Faso are third in group I of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and will need a win against leaders Mauritania to stand a chance of qualifying should Angola lose to Botswana.

Yacouba's performances has seen him attract interest from Egyptian giants Al Ahly and was contacted by officials of Al Hilal of Sudan on Sunday after another fine display.
