Southern Sector defeated Northern Sector 2-1 to lift the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Memorial Cup on Sunday in Tamale.
Medeama’s Kwesi Donsu broke the deadlock for the Southern sector with a brilliant volley in the 17th minutes.
Three minutes after the break, Asante Kotoko forward Saddick Adams pulled even for the Northern Sector with a fine finish.
The Northern Sector then created some decent chances but they failed to put the ball at the back of the net, and they were made to pay for their profligacy as Hearts of Oak striker Kwame Kizito restored Southern Sector’s lead after he was put through by Patrick Razak.
The game which was part of activities to honour the late Vice President of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama for his selfless contribution to the development of sports failed to live up to the hype after both sides paraded brilliant players from the Ghana Premier League.

The game which was played at the newly christened Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium was the final event used to commemorate the five years departure of the late Vice President and the renaming of the beautiful Tamale edifice.
