Ghana goalkeeper Ernest Sowah, who joined Asante Kotoko on Thursday, has indicated that he would fight for the team’s first-choice spot.

The 27-year-old former Berekum Chelsea and CS Don Bosco shot stopper will face competition from Eric Ofori Antwi, Isaac Amoako and Felix Annan.

Annan is expected to return to the Kumasi-based side after his successful loan spell with WAFA where he kept 10 clean sheets.

“I want to be active this season for me to get a Black Stars call up and so upon terminating my contract I told the whole world I was available to join any club,” Sowah told Starfmonline.com.

“It was Kotoko who showed interest finally and I decided with my manager Oduro Sarfo to sign for Kotoko, so quickly we were invited to Kumasi to seal the deal.

“Despite the club having equally experienced goalies I am not perturbed because all will depend on the coach to choose and surely I will be the obvious choice,” he said.

Sowah made his debut for Ghana in an international friendly against China on August 15, 2012 and he was part of the Ghana team that played at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
