Sunyani (B/A) June 7, GNA - Sunyani-based Space FM Radio football team beat their counterparts from the International Hospital Group (IHG) 2- 0 in a special friendly match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park at the weekend, in preparation towards the Unilever sponsored Republic Day Fan Games, scheduled to take place at the Sunyani Coronation Park on 1st July, 2004.

Space FM scored a goal in each half of an exciting match that had a lot to cheer about.

Centre-forward Saint Addo, a presenter popularly known as "Rap- Tee" scored the first goal in the 21st minute against the run of play when he connected a corner-kick with a header expertly taken by the station's General Manager, Ransford Antwi.

The IHG side featuring the expatriate Project Engineer, Daniels Mark George at the defence, had completely dominated play from the onset until the goal was scored against the run of play.

Their strikers made up of Ernest Fosuhene, Mohammed Abu, Jacob Kalim, Alhassan Adams and Charles squandered the numerous goal chances that came their way to the chagrin of their supporters.

The exciting match, which was covered live on Space FM, however registered an unfortunate incident midway in the first half when Jordan Addai of the radio team and Ebo Quansah of IHG were rushed to the Sunyani Government Hospital after a clash.

Quansah had a deep cut on the forehead while Addai who went into a coma was given first aid before being rushed to the hospital.

The radio team made changes in the second half that included 'Stuggard' Kwabena Kyere, in-charge of sports and that seemed to change their attacking force and it came as no surprise when Ransford Antwi scored the second goal in the 69th minute but try as the IHG side did they could not beat the defence of the radio team till the end of proceedings.
