Former Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey has questioned the 2019 AFCON budget by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Asiamah, describing it as a ‘dubious validity.’

Randy, owner of Division One League side Kpando Heart of Lions and host of popular show ‘Good Morning Ghana’s on Metro TV insists the figures by the sector Minister do not make sense.

The Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah disclosed the budget for the 2019 AFCON in Ghana’s Parliament on Wednesday stating nearly $4.6m was used out of a proposed $6.1m.

Randy believes the fires are not only outrageous but not convincing.

“The figures just don’t add up,” he told Joy News’ Newsfile.

“The statement of expenditure only covered in three cost variables that is the playing body, technical staff and additional technical staff.

“Meanwhile in his own statement, the cost factories were about nine,” he added.

The budget has taken centre stage in what could be described as Ghana’s poorest campaign in the history of the AFCON in about two decades.
