Sports Minister sends goodwill message to Black Stars

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has sent a goodwill message to the senior national football team, the Black Stars.

The Minister on behalf of Government and the people of Ghana urged the Black Stars to go all to secure victory for the team as they take on Mozambique 2017 AFCON qualifier on Thurday.

In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Otor Plahar, the Minister urged the players to prepare adequately as they have done always to ensure the team raises the flag of Ghana high, “I believe that the Team is up to the task and can emerge victors”.

“Prepare your minds adequately and renew your spirit of conviction. Do not rest on your oars but work hard to raise the flag of Ghana high by qualifying for the AFCON and ultimately bring the trophy home. We know we are in difficult times, but difficult moments bring in their wake toughness, resilience and brilliance; qualities that the Black Stars are known for”, the message read.

The Minister also urged the coaches, as well as the Technical and Management of the Black Stars to ensure that the players are well-conditioned and prepared physically, mentally and psychologically ahead of the competition.

He asked Ghanaians to remember the Team in their prayers as they aim for glory.

The match is slated for the Accra sports stadium on 24th March, 2016 and a return leg on 27th March, 2016Accra.
