The Sports Ministry has named Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi in a 2015 All Africa Games Committee to ensure a successful participation.
According to a publication by the state-owned Graphic Sports, the sector ministry will inaugurate a 28-member Games committee next week.
It is reported that the list comprises mainly heads of federations and associations who would be participating at this year’s games.
The big names include the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Joe Kpenge; Ghana Athletics Association president, Professor Francis Dodoo; Ghana Tennis Federation president, Justice Ernest Yao Obimpe; Ghana Badminton Association president, Nestor Percy Ghalley; Ghana Table Tennis Federation president, Mawuko Afadzinu and Ghana Weightlifting Federation president, Ben Nunoo Mensah.
Others are president of the Association of Disabled Sports, Reverend Cornelius Adja-Coffie; Ghana Cycling Federation president, Mohammed Sahnoon; Ghana Fencing Association president, Mohammed Mahadi; Ghana Judo Association president, Emmanuel Tetteh; Ghana Swimming Association president, Theophilus Wilson Edzie; Frank Kweku Famiyeh, vice-president of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation and Paul Atchoe, the president of the Ghana Volleyball Association.
The rest are, Saka Acquaye, the Deputy Director General-Technical of the NSA, Abdulu Musah, deputy Director General-Administration of the NSA; Reverend Otoo, the Chief Accountant of the NSA; Frederika Mensah-Davies, the PRO of the NSA and Emmanuel Sackey, the Internal Auditor of the NSA, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Director of Sports, Deputy Director and the Director of Finance.
The 11th edition of the All Africa Games is scheduled to take place between 4-19 September in Brazzaville, Congo.
