The Sports Ministry has written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) seeking details of the Puma sponsorship deal.

The famous German sports kit manufacturer has been the sponsor of the Black Stars since 2005. Reports have suggested the FA accrued $1.1 million annually from the deal, but the nation’s football governing body has denied the claim.

It would be recalled the Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry into Ghana’s 2014 World Cup fiasco directed t the GFA to make public details of any sponsorship deal meant for national teams but that directive is yet to be heeded to.

However, Spokesperson of the Sports Ministry, Elvis Adjei Baah says the GFA is yet to furnish his outfit with the details of the contract.

“We wrote to the GFA for the contractual detail with Puma. As far as we are concerned they are yet to respond. The Ministry has initiated an action on all cooperate organizations, individuals leveraging on the national teams as far as sponsorship is concern to seek clarification,” Adjei Baah told Starr Sports.
