Ghana Premier League broadcast rights owners StarTimes have hit to gear with the live telecast of domestic football matches with the friendly clash between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the Black Meteors set to be live on Sunday.

The giant media outfit will produce and telecast the game live on their Adepa TV Channel 247.

This will be the first time a friendly match involving a local club and a national team will be live on StarTimes.

Television exposure has been credited for the growth of several leagues across the globe and this is the attempt by rights holders StarTimes to offer a similar path for the game in Ghana.

With domestic football non-existent for the past six months, expectations are high for the patronage of the game.

The game which will be played at 15:00GMT will also offer the Black Meteors the opportunity to also sharpen up their preparations for the U23 AFCON qualifier with Togo on the 18th of this month.

The Porcupine Warriors have been seriously preparing for the upcoming clash with Kenyan side Kariobangi Sharks in the round of 16 clash.

The 23-time record Ghana Premier League winners were handed a walkover in the preliminary round of the competition after Cameroon failed to enter a club for the competition.

Kotoko has had a wonderful preparation under new Coach C.K. Akunnor playing a series of friendly matches to prepare for the Kariobangi clash.

The absence of the Ghana Premier League has forced the Porcupine Warriors to resort to playing friendly matches as the only way on preparing for the clash.

Kotoko is set to travel to Ethiopia for camping after their clash with the Black Meteors.
