Ghana’s fastest growing digital television operator, StarTimes will telecast the 2018/19 Bundesliga season live and exclusively on its platform.
StarTimes Ghana for the second time running welcomed the new Bundesliga season with a launch on Friday during the game where defending champions, Bayern Munich managed an impressive 3-1 win against TSG Hoffenheim in the season's highly anticipated curtain-raiser.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Mr. George Lomotey of StarTimes disclosed that Ghanaians who subscribe to the StarTimes will get the opportunity to watch more European leagues and stressed that the station has keen interest in the German League due to the presence of Ghanaian players.

“The German football has been with us for a very long time, back in the days when the game was shown on GTV where most of the players blazed the trail, down the road we had Abedi Pele, CK Akunnor, Kuffour and a whole number of Ghanaian players going through the German Bundesliga,” Mr. Lomotey said.

Mr. George Lomotey expressed excitement after Ghanaian defender Kasim Nuhu Adams featured for Hoffenham despite their defeat to the defending Champions.
SWAG vice president, Maurice Quansah, added that Ghanaian football has benefitted immensely from the German League and the history Ghanaian players have chalked in the League can never be written off.

“Having the German Bundesliga on our screen is the best thing I wish for, growing up we were fed with it. German football has grown over the years and has had a strong connection with Ghana football because one of our distinguished football personalities, C.K Gyamfi played in Germany before he handed our national team and handed us our unprecedented success,” Maurice Quansah said.

Bundesliga is ranked the second best league in the World by total attendance and features a wide range of players from around the globe.

As the official broadcaster of the Ghana Premier League, StarTimes will also broadcast the French Lig Un, Belgian, Turkish and other Leagues
