Starke F/C qualify for finals of Middle League

Cape Coast, Nov. 13, GNA - Dunkwa-On-Offin Starke F/C played a spectacular game to pip Kasoa Bagojet F/C 1-0 in the Central Region Division Two Middle League match played at the Robert Mensah stadium on Wednesday, to top the Zone two league table with six points. With the victory, Starke F/C have thus qualified to participate in the final Middle League competition on Sunday, November 16. Meanwhile their last match with Adansi Praso WAECO F/C on Friday will therefore be a mere formality.

After referee Joseph Macarthy had signalled for proceedings to commence, the two teams started strongly that kept the spectators applauding the short and accurate passes of the players to end the first half with no scores to each side.

Both sides resumed the second half strongly but it was Starke F/C who had the edge with their attack and scored the match winner in the 65th minute through their play maker Prince Arhin. After the goal Bagojet threw everything into the game as they made several efforts to equalize but try as they did they could not find the net tillthe final whistle.

In another encounter, Agona Swedru Amanpong beat Adansi-Praso WAECO F/C 5-3 on penalties after the two sides drew 2-2 at full time.
