Lome, March 13, GNA - Ghana's Black Starlets go into action against Eritrea at the African U-17 Championship on Wednesday with qualification as the main objective on their minds.

The Starlets would qualify to the semi final stage of the competition with a victory over the debutants who have so far been the heaviest losers of the African U-17 competition currently underway in Togo. Eritrea who lost heavily (0-8) to Nigeria in their group opener are not considered as credible opponents to stand in the way of the Ghanaians and their qualification at the Kuege Stadium on Wednesday. The Starlets are considered as among the strongest teams in the competition and it is expected that tomorrow they will stand the test of scoring more goals than the Nigerians did.

After thrilling football fans with their flair in their opening game against Burkina Faso on Sunday, Coach Osam Duodo's boys are favoured ahead of the game which pundits believe will be more like 91A Father and Son' affair.

The Ghanaians are however not leaving nothing to chance despite the fact that the talk is growing in their favour.

With no injury worries in camp, coach Duodo is expected to parade a similar sqaud as the one that defeated the Burkinabe's on Sunday. The battle lines are drawn and the responsibilities lie on players such as Ishmael Yartey, crafty Ransford Osei and Addo Paul among others to keep the dreams of the team at a treble at the tourney moving. The confident-looking players and the technical bench of the Ghanaians have vowed to eschew any level of complacency that comes with winning and meeting a supposed weak side.

To the Starlets winning tomorrow's game is an integral part of the process to the final and they want to ensure it is done in a grand style and what remains now is the watch word.

The team seems to have overcome the stage fright that engulfed them in the opener and will surely have no excuses about going all to blaze for the desired points that will make their third group meeting with Nigeria on Saturday a less difficult task.
