The Cameroon Football Federation could lodge a protest with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) against Ghana for allegedly fielding overage players.

Cameroon claim seven of the Black Starlets players who defeated the host 2-1, in the 2015 African U-17 Championship qualifier at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadiun in Yaoundé, at the weekend are overage.

The players, Benjamin Aseidu, Moses Nyarko, Felix Quaye, Henry Medarious, Issah Abbas, Isaac Twum and Jonah Osabutey had their photographs taken before kick-off as the Cameroonians seek boardroom points.

The Starlets are on the brink of qualifying for the 2015 African U-17 Championship following the results on Saturday, with the return fixture scheduled for Ghana in a fortnight.

Goals by Ernest Agyiri and Abass in the first half offered Ghana a head-start ahead of the return leg which will see the winner qualify for the tournament in Niger.

Meanwhile, Black Starlets coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin has told GNA Sports “We are unperturbed about their claims and allegations. We know our players are clean and passed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test even before they we registered for the qualifiers.

“Cameroon raised those concerns before the game and I confidently told them to go to CAF because I knew we had nothing to worry about.”

Ghana are perennial favourites for the competition.
