Stars Skipper Welcomes New GFA Boss

The captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah has congratulated Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe on his election as the new Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Speaking from his Turin base, the Juventus midfielder said: ?Dr. Tamakloe comes in at a time that the country is recovering from a few knocks it suffered at all levels of football. From his experience in football I know he is highly capable of guiding the nation to its first World Cup in Germany 2006, God willing.?

The 23 year old assured the new chairman of the GFA the support of all Ghanaian footballers both home and abroad and said: ?on behalf of my colleagues in Ghana and abroad, I will assure you that we will put the nation first.?

Stephen Appiah took the opportunity to thank the out going chairman Mr. Ben Koufie and his management for their immense contribution to Ghana football. ?To Uncle Ben and his management, I want to thank them for their efforts during the hard times but finishing off on the brightest note by taking Ghana to the Olympic Games. Your reward is in heaven,? he added.

Appiah urged Ghanaians to support the new management to ensure success especially with the Olympic Games and the World Cup qualifiers.
