The Black Stars held their first training session in Gabon on Sunday ahead of their Group D opener at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations. The team had touched down in Port-Gentil on Saturday, a day after earlier scheduled.
There were media reports that the team had rejected its training pitch as well as hotel of residence but the Ghana Football Association strongly dismissed them, on its official Twitter page.

Sunday’s training had all 23 members of the squad in attendance. There are no injury worries as the Stars play Uganda’s Cranes on Tuesday, January 17.
The team is expected to hold another training later Monday evening to smoothen the rough edges for Tuesday’s outing. Ghana is chasing a fifth continental trophy, having missed that twice in the last four tourneys.
Coach Avram Grant was in charge at the latest miss in 2015 as the Stars lost on penalties to the Elephants of La Cote d’Ivoire in Equatorial Guinea.
