The Black Stars of Ghana last Saturday suffered a 0-1 defeat to their Ugandan counterparts in their African cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Kampala.
It was the Ghanaians’ first loss after the Brazil 2014 World Cup, having won two and drawn two games in the AFCON campaign.
Notwithstanding the defeat, the team still occupied the top spot with eight points, with a game in hand against badly-bruised Togo this Wednesday.
The Cranes of Uganda fetched the opener from a corner kick when the game had barely found its rhythm and managed to hold on to the solitary lead despite attempts by the WestAfrican visitors to cancel the lead.
The East Africans, who until the game needed nothing but a win to save their Nations Cup dream, appeared hungrier on the day.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars who returned home last midnight will fly to Tamale this morning to round up their qualifiers for the 2015 Nations Cup.
