Asante Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala Dese has bid an emotional farewell to the club, ending his two-year stay.
The Ugandan, in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), shed tears while thanking the club and fans for making him feel at home during his time in Ghana.
"Hello Warriors, this is the saddest day of my career as I say goodbye to the home that has given me a platform to grow my football career," he said with teary eyes.
He also expressed gratitude to the life patron of the club, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and former club Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah.
"I want to thank His Majesty the King, and in a special way, I want to thank Nana Yaw Amponsah for supporting me and signing me to play in one of the biggest clubs in Africa."
Asante Kotoko confirmed the striker's departure and wished him well in his next adventure.
"Steven Mukwala leaves Kotoko upon the expiration of his contract."
"The club is grateful for the moments shared together and wishes him the best for the future," Kotoko wrote in a statement on X.
According to reports in Uganda, Mukwala is set to join Tanzanian giants Simba SC with talks at the final stages.
