English premier league side, Stoke City, have tabled an initial $3 million bid for the signature of Ghanaian defender, Daniel Opare. The 27-year-old former Real Madrid defender enjoyed a remarkable campaign in the Bundesliga but look destined for a winter switch to the English top tier.
Opare, a utility defender for FC Augsburg, will be free in the summer but has courted interest from a number of premier league clubs led by Stoke City and Swansea City. Stoke City manager, Mark Huges, is a known admirer of Opare and his current interest comes as no surprise with the Potters bent on beefing up their leaky defense. Augsburg are unlikely to block his exit as he will be free to move in the summer.
