Struggling French side Strasbourg have joined the race for club-less Ghanaian midfielder Alex Nyarko after doubts emerged over the midfielder’s reported transfer to Oatari side Al-Ittihad. The 29 year old walked out on former French champions PSG and appeared set for a move to the Middle East but the deal has reportedly broken down for unexplained reasons allowing Strassburg to join the cue for the former Black Stars midfielder.
The French division one side are in danger of dropping out to the second division and believe they can do greatly with the hard tackling and smooth passing of the Ghanaian star.
As the saga of Nyarko’s transfer rages on, one man would be paying particular attention. New Black Stars coach Bukhard Ziese plans on talking Nyarko out of retirement from the national team and would be particularly pleased if he starts playing again.
But to sign him, Strasburg must pay not less than 3 million pounds which is Everton’s asking price. The English side still own the player who they signed from RC Lens in France for 3.5 million pounds three years ago. The marriage lasted for just one and half season. It ended on a sour note after Nyarko was harrased by a fan for poor performances.
