Swiss player of Ghanaian descent, Kwadwo Duah, has revealed that his parents left Ghana in search of a better life.

Duah, who played in his first tournament for the Swiss national team at Euro 2024, had the option of representing either Ghana or England.

Speaking about his upbringing, the player noted that his parents left Ghana to pursue a better life for the family in Europe.

"I was born in London, but we no longer have family there. My mum and dad were in Ghana, but they had an opportunity to move to England because it offered a better life."

The Ludgorets forward was named in Switzerland's squad for the Euros after his impressive debut against Estonia in a friendly.

He scored a goal in his debut match at the Euros as Switzerland defeated Hungary 3-1 in their first match.

Reflecting on the impact of his goal, the player said, "It was a significant moment for my family and me. To score the first goal for Switzerland in a European Championship, not everyone gets that opportunity, and we were all very happy."
