The European transfer window closed on Thursday 31st August 2006. After this time, clubs cannot sign any players, on loan or full transfers, until one minute past midnight on Monday 1st January 2007. This window will stay open until midnight on 31 January 2007.

August

  • Roma's want-away defender Sammy Kuffour is a target for Portsmouth and Tottenham. Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has left the versatile Ghanaian international out of his pre-season plans and given him the green light to look for a new club. Kuffour's agent, Oscar Damiani said: "We are trying to find a new destination for Kuffour."

  • Heracles has reached an agreement [come to terms] with Ajax over highly rated Emmanuel Boakye. He will play a minimum of 1 season in Almelo. Boakye who has received a lot of attention from Clubs including Sparta Rotterdam has come to an agreement with the Club.

  • Udinese have yet to receive a formal offer from Portsmouth for Sulley Muntari, the Ghana midfield player.

  • John Pantsil has been granted a work permit after he completed a 1 million pound transfer from Hapoel Tel Aviv to West Ham. The right back signed a four-year deal last week.

  • Roland Osabutey tranferred to Portugese second division club Desportivo de moncorvo.

  • July 24: FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine) have invited Seth Ablade for trials. The forward plays for KuPS in Finland. Ablade leaves today for Ukraine

  • Transfer Rumour: Portsmouth are in the box seat to sign Ghana captain Stephen Appiah from Fenerbahce, but will have to fight off Arsenal. (News of the World)

  • Tawfik Alolo of AC Horsens is back to RTU. After an unseccesful six month loan the danish premier league club decided not to extend his contract.

  • George Owu(Ashanti Gold) is on a 2 day trial with Egyptian side Zamalek.

  • Reading have moved closer to signing Ghana international John Mensah(Daily Express). A ?3.5 million bid has been tabled with French top division side Rennes for Mensah, who reported back to training yesterday (Wednesday) following his World Cup exploits with Ghana. Mensah is thought to be keen on a move to the Premiership, and he has been a target of Coppell's for over six months, but it remains to be seen whether Rennes will hold out for a bigger fee.

  • Kwabena Agouda (21) loaned out to FC Winterthur in the Swiss Challenge League (2nd level). His loan contract will last until the end of this year. He was a member of FC St.Gallen since joining them in 2004 from FC Nania. He scored 1 goal in 20 games.

  • Baba "Armando" Adamu is in the process of signing with the Croatian side Rijeka FC. The striker, who failed to make the cut for the World cup squad, moves from the Russian side Krylia Sovetov

  • Defender John Mensah has been offered a three-year contract by French club Rennes. The 23-year-old, who is expected to feature for Ghana at the World Cup finals in Germany, came to Rennes in January, on loan from Italian side Chievo Verona. But Mensah's impressive form convinced Rennes' officials to make the deal permanent.

    • The 2005 premier league Goal King, Prince Tagoe, has signed an 18-month contract with AL ITTIHAD of Saudi Arabia.

    • Gabriel Issah Ahmed has signed for Dannish division 1 (NOT the Superliga) side, Randers FC. The 23-year-old is expeced to join the club after the ANC.

    • German Bundesliiga side, FSV Mainz 05, have signed Ghanaian international striker Prince Tagoe. The 19-year-old moves from Accra Hearts of Oak on a loan until 30th June 2007 with the option of further extension until 2010.

      Tagoe, who won the goal king award in the domestic league last season has ended his loan spell with Hearts of Oak and now reverts to division one side, Maamobi Midtjylland.

    • Midfielder Laryea Kingston, currently in camp with the Black Stars, has earned a loan move to Locomotiv Moscow. He signed for Lokomotiv Moscow on Monday. Kingston joins the Moscow club from FC Terek of Chechnya. He made 15 league appearances for FC Krylya Sovetov Samara before spending the second half of the 2005 season with Terek. The 25-year-old midfielder moved to Russia from Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2004. Kingston has seven caps for Ghana. Lokomotiv faces Spanish club Sevilla in the round of 32 of the UEFA Cup.

    • Turkish side, Ankarag?c? SK, have re-signed Augustine Ahinful, who was without a club.

    • Alex Nyarko's trial with Swiss Challenge League team FC Lausanne has been unsuccessful. The main reason for not employing him was that he was almost inactive in the past two years.

    • Emmanuel Kuffour leaves for UAE for $30,000 transfer. Abubakari Shaibu also leaves today to try his luck in UAE

    • Razak Pimpong has joined FC Copenhagen from FC Midtjylland

    • West Ham appear to have beaten Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Sadat Bukari, who came to attention playing for Ghana in the World Under-17 Championship in Peru. Tottenham were hoping that the Heart of Lions forward would return next week on a six-month trial but Bukari has agreed a three-year deal with the East London club

    • SV Pasching (Austrian Bundesliga) was interested in signing Alex Tachie Mensah from FC St.Gallen. Reason why they did not sign him: "We do not need more foreigners unless others will leave our team"

    • Alex Nyarko (33yrs) was/is apparently on trials with FC Lausanne/Challenge League, Switzerland. Coach Gerard Castella: "The physical tests are good but we see that he has not been playing for a long time." Nyarko will not join the team over the week-end in Leysin. "I would like to see him next week, especially in the friendly game versus Servette Geneve (21.01) before taking a final decision. Nyarko's last stop was in Norway (3 games with IK Start). He has already absolved medical tests with FC Lausanne
