Accra, June 12, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) will on Saturday, June 14, commence a special national league competition at the D.G Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra. A statement issued by Patrick Anyidoho, Acting General Secretary of the GTTA copied to the GNA Sports said 304 players have so far registered to participate in the competition.
The statement said the registered players include 26 men's team, with eight players each and 16 female teams with six players each. The League according to the Secretariat is scheduled to end on September 6.
Mr Anyidoho said the first day one of the competition will be preceded by an opening ceremony to be addressed by the Chief executive officer of the National Sports Council, Prince Ernest Oduro-Mensah and officials of the Akosombo Textiles Limited. The men's teams comprise the Police Service, Cape Coast Loopers, Brong Ahafo Region, Western Region, Volta Region, Greater Accra Region, New Juaben, Army, Immigration, Street Academy, Educators (UEW) and Tesano Club.
The others are Back Handers, CEPS, La Dadekotopon, Winneba Advanced Academy, Navy, White Loopers, Accra Poly, Airforce, Koforidua Club, Fire Service, GUSA and Mallas.
The female teams has clubs from Street Academy, Greater Accra Region, Fire Service, Brong Ahafo Region, Back Handers, Airforce, CEPS, Navy, Army, Top Spinners, Ashanti Loopers, Immigration, GUSA, New Juaben, Police Service and Western Loopers.
