Accra, March 22, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has pushed this weekend's fixtures of the Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL) Table Tennis League up a further week.
The Easter festivities influenced the new development, according to information gathered by the GNA Sports.
According to Mr. Oteng Aboagye, Secretary General of the Association, the fixtures initially billed for Saturday, March 26 will now be honoured on Saturday, April 2.
The game involving Police and Kwanyako is the top liner in the women fixtures.
The two teams are pegged at the second and third spots of the 14-league table respectively and share four points apiece. League leaders, CEPS who won their last game 3-0 at the weekend, would clash with eighth-placed Street Academy.
Fire Service, Winneba, Swedru, Navy and Greater Accra teams would meet their counterparts from Cape Coast, Ashanti, Eastern, GUSA and GASSA respectively.
In the Men's category, the Police team would lock horns with Street Academy, CEPS vie with the Eastern team; Telecom plays VILCABAMBA while the Ashanti team clashes with their Tema counterparts.
Pacesetters, Koforidua are favoured against unimpressive GUSA who are currently walloping in the lower ranks of the 18-team table. Winneba, Ghana Navy, Cape Coast and Greater Accra would play Swedru, GASSA, Fire Service and Kwanyako respectively.
