Ghana striker Alexander Tachie-Mensah is expected to be out of action for at least two months after being told he requires surgery.
The 30-year-old, who plays for Swiss side St. Gallen, was carried off during Wednesday's opening match of the Swiss season.
He has since been diagnosed with a broken foot and torn ligaments in his right ankle.
The striker will have surgery next week.
Tachie-Mensah's absence compounded the misery of St. Gallen who lost the game 2-0.
He is likely to miss Ghana's friendly against Senegal on 21 August in London.
