Tagoe ready for big fight against Reyes

WBO Featherweight Champion, Emmanuel Tagoe has said he will knock-out his Philippine opponent Joebert Delos Reyes in the WBA International Lightweight Championship at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 27.

The bout dubbed the ‘‘legendary fists’’ promoted by Baby Jet Boxing Promotions and partnered by TV Network SuperSport with support from Box Office Promotions will be televised live to 50 other countries across the African Continent.

Tagoe, who has set his eyes on winning a world title, told GNA Sports that he had intensified his preparation to defeat the Filipino despite his opponent's achievement.

He said ‘‘I have prepared immensely for this bout and prepared to defeat any opponent given at all levels. I will give off my best again to impress. I call on Ghanaians to rally behind me for victory.

‘‘My opponent will just brag but he is no match for me because I will stop him. He does not know my strength so he can only boast. But for me, it is not my style to watch a video of an opponent before a fight because it does not help me. I am a dynamic and skillful boxer so I will claim victory that day’’.

The International Boxing Organization (IBO), Lightweight Youth World Champion, Reyes is a 25 year old Filipino boxer who has fought 18, Won 13 (10 KO’s) Lost 4 and Drawn 1 under his belt.

The bill will also feature an International Lightweight Contest of 10 rounds between Ghanaian boxer George “Red Tiger” Ashie and Ronald Pontilla from the Philippines.
