Professional League Boards (PLB) Sylvester Mensah says he would have been happy if the first week matches of the Kinapharma Premier League had ended without incident.
Mensah said he was sad that there were reports of violence and in Tamale and confirmed that the PLB would take action on the matter. Mensah confirmed that the reports of the match officials as well as independent observers who were at the Bolga match had come through and had been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee of the FA for their attention.
Match officials are required by the regulations to submit reports on matches they handled within 48 hours after the end of the matches and that deadline expired yesterday. The Disciplinary Committee would be required to decide on the level of punishment to be meted out to Messrs Samuel Addo and Justice Quarcoo of Liberty Professionals and Berekum Arsenals respectively who were red carded in their respective games on Sunday.
Addo was shown the exit by referee C.M. Atsatsa after he had caught a goal bound shot in their home game against Hearts of Oak. Quarcoo received the matching off orders for dissent against referee Essel Walker in their away match at Obuasi against Obuasi Goldfields.
