Tano Bofoakwa 1 Tema Youth 1

Sunyani(B/A), Sept 24, GNA - Visiting Tema Youth F/C drew one all with Tano Bofoakwa in their OneTouch Premier League match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.

Tema Youth registered their first goal in the 40th minute, courtesy an own goal when Bofo's defender, Seidu Addullah mis-kicked the ball from Tema Youth's right winger Razak Abdul into his own net. Bofo who had high hopes of carrying the day piled up pressure on the Team lads in the first 20th minutes but their attackers failed to utilize many of the chances that came their way as they easily gave away the balls to their opponents in front of goal.

Tema Youth's right winger Kofi Koomson and left winger Fuseini Abdul Rahim combined beautifully with Bofo's goalkeeper Shaibu Mohammed saving most of the deadly situations to the admiration of the home fans.

The game was temporarily halted for five minutes in the 60th minute for what most perceived as bad officiating.

The confusion came about when Class One Referee Kwao Sampson whistled for a penalty against Tema F/C after the ball hit a defender's hand but the referee quickly rescinded his decision and awarded a goal kick in favour of the Tema lads much to the annoyance and the boos from the Bofo fans.

It took the efforts of some security personnel to restore peace and order between players and the referee for the continuation of the game. On resumption of the second half, the Tema lads however paid for their complacency as they lost concentration and no wonder two minutes into extra time, substitute Opoku Antwi struck home for the much needed equaliser after a good move upfront engineered by mid-fielder Yaw Alexander.
