Tapa-Abotoase Zone place first in Inter-Schools U-12 football competition

Tapa-Abotoase (V/R), March 30, GNA - Tapa-Abotoase Zone scored seven points to place first at the end of a two-day Inter-Schools U-12 boys socce= r competition which took place in the Biakoye District.

Worawora and Nkonya Ahenkro Zones were bracket with six points to take the second position while Kwamekrom Zone came forth with three points. Nkonya Wurupong and Bowiri Zones also tied for the fifth place with tw= o points each while Tapa Alavanyo Zone came last with no point. In the Girls category, Nkonya Ahenkro Zone came first with six points followed by Tapa Abotoase and Bowiri Zones who tied at second position with four points each.

Kwamekrom Zone had three points to place fourth while Worawora, Nkonya Wurupong and Tapa Alavanyo Zones tied with two points each. Mr Sammy Ashie, District Director of Education who opened the competition said soccer has become an important source of gainful employmen= t and avenue for the youth to use their talents to acquire wealth and therefore advised the participants to take their training seriously. He therefore advised the various communities to form juvenile soccer clubs and organize competitions among them to unearth and develop potential football talents in their areas.
