Ghana’s football side however topped the Africa championships by emerging champions as the two goals of competition top scorer, Abel Manomey ensured a 2-0 success in the final over Uganda. In the event, goalkeeper Michael Akwetteh Lamptey, captain Edward Owusu Asare, Ebenezer Kisseh and Abel Manomey (all of UEW), Kamal Kokroko and Benjamin Jesse Chagli (University of Professional Studies), Saddick Ahmed, Seth Awidi and Atindane (University of Ghana), Jeffery Taylor and Alfred Ahene (KNUST), Emmanuel Baffour and Nicholas Acheampong (UCC) and Francis Yagah of U-MAT were some of the players who represented Ghana’s universities and won gold in Kenya.
