Tema Captain's Prize Golf tees off on Feb. 11

Tema, Jan. 30, GNA - The Captain's Prize Golf Championship of the Tema Country Golf Club tees off on Saturday, February 11. About 150 amateur golfers are expected to participate in the one-day '18-Hole Medal Play' competition.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Manager of the Club who announced at Tema on Monday, said the competition is open to golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs.

Mr Kofi Gyau, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club and the Managing Director of Koffson Company Limited is sponsoring the competition. A visit to some of the golf clubs by the GNA Sports saw most of the golfers sharpening their strokes for the competition, which is one of the biggest events in the calendar of the Tema Country Golf Club. Among the celebrities to feature at the competition include veteran golfer John Sam, former Manager of the Achimota Golf Club, Kwaame Saarah-Mensah, Captain, Charles Tabi, Lee Mensah and Dan Dennis all of Achimota Golf Club who have all signed up for the competition and declared their intention of winning the ultimate trophy and prize.

The President's Putter, which would be sponsored by Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, who is also the President of the Tema Country Golf Club will be played at Tema on February 26.
