Ten man Hearts of Oak held BA United to a 1-1 draw at the Sunyani Coronation Park on match day 20 of the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier on Sunday.
BA United a relegation threatened club played above themselves as their fight to escape relegation still continue despite their board room wrangling.
The Sunyani based club started the game as the brightest side; they dominated and created goal scoring opportunities but Soulama Abdoulaye in post for the Phobians curtailed all the dangerous incursions from the home side.
But their aggressiveness on the field of play paid off in the 22nd minute when former Hearts of Oak defender Nana Egyir scored against his former employer from the spot-kick after Isaac Oduro handled the ball in his penalty box.
After the goal, the Phobians came from their shell and upped their game searching for the equalizer but the attackers of the away side led by Gilbert Fiamenyo were all not at their best in the game.
The persistent pressure from Hearts of Oak in the 44th minute opened the defense of BA Utd as back from injury Selasi Adjei from nowhere tucked home a rebound after Gilbert Fiamenyo effort was saved.
Both teams in the second half intensified their performance but Hearts of Oak was the better side as they dictated the pace as in most occasions the home side was second to the ball. In the 65th minute the Phobians got reduced to 10 men after Owusu Bempah was showed the exit after his second bookable offense.
However BA Utd failed to take full advantage of Hearts of Oak numerical disadvantage; as the Phobians held on to frustrate the home side which positively earned them a point after 90 minutes of scintillating football at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
The results means BA Utd is still placed at the bottom of the log sheet with 16 points while the Phobians have dropped from the 10th position to 13th with 26 points.
