Ten member management team to run Olympics

Accra, Oct 13, GNA 96 A ten member management committee has been inaugurated by the Board of Directors of Accra Great Olympics to run the club.

The committee has Mr Eric Odai Afotey as the Chief Executive Officer with Mr Wellington as the secretary.

Other members of the committee are Mr Samuel Alabi Cheetham and Mr Charles Minkah first and second vice chairmen respectively, while Mr Kwesi Duku will assume duty as the Director of Operations. The rest are Dr Albert W.Q Barnor, Joseph Afotey Agbo, Ransom Otoo, Kwesi Oduro Arhen and Daniel Bortequaye Angenu.

Mr Amarkai Amarteifio chairman of the Board of Directors who inaugurated the management team asked the members not to consider their appointments as an honour but to take it as a huge responsibility, more especially, when they are coming at a time when the club is confronted with many challenges as it has just regained promotion to the elite league.

He advised members to be loyal to the CEO and take collective decisions for the progress of the club.

Mr Amarteifio therefore tasked the management team to work hard to steer the team on to greater glory by ensuring a good performance in the premiership.

The Board Chairman said, his outfit would give the management all the support they require to succeed and assured them that the board, would not interfere in the work of the management team. Mr Amartefio however noted that, though the board would not interfere in then work of the management, they would not hesitate to intervene when things were not done properly.

He expressed the hope that, the management team would motivate the playing body to win the 2006/7 premier league. Mr Afotey noted that, the management had been confronted with some minor problems but added that 93we will soon overcome.=94 He was optimistic on the chances of the club in the premiership, saying 93with the support of all members of the Olympics family, we shall win the league this season.=94
