Accra, Oct. 12, GNA-Kofi Tettedzi scored a plus of two, to win this year's Taywood Bowl Invitational Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.
He was followed by George Toall with a plus of one, beating Rene Kwame on count-back while Charles Ofori placed third with a square score, beating Paul Owusu-Baah on count-back. In the Ladies encounter, Suzie Abaloo-Kumassah came first with a plus of two, beating Beatrice Vetsche-Bempong on count-back, Eunice Brookman-Amissah took the third position with a plus of one while Mona Myres-lamptey placed foiurth with a minus of four.
Mike Ezan played above himself to win the only prize reserved for the Nine-Hole event with a minus of three.
The one-day 'Better Ball' competition opened to members of the Achimota Golf Club only, was sponsored by Taysec constructions Limited. Mr. Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club, commended the company for their immense contributions towards the promotion and the development of the sport in the country. He said the competition, which started as far back as 1960, continued to generate interest year after year and this year. was not exceptional.
Mr. Ezan appealed to other corporate bodies and institutions to help develop the sport in the country to ain international level. Mr. Jeoff Fisher, Managing Director of Taysec Constructions Limited gave the assurance that his outfit would sponsor the event in the ensuing years.
