Ghana Premier League icon, Charles Taylor, has voiced his concerns regarding Kumasi Asante Kotoko's transfer strategy, particularly the quality of players being recruited.

He believes that the club's current approach to signing foreign-based players isn't yielding the expected performance improvements.

Taylor pointed out that only a handful of the numerous international players signed by the Porcupine Warriors have made a notable impact, specifically Brazilian Fabio Gama, Mukwala, and Mbella.

Speaking on Angel TV, Taylor emphasised that Kotoko's newly signed foreign players need to put in significant effort to succeed at the club.

When asked about the overall influence of foreign players at Kotoko, Taylor remarked, "It's common to bring in foreign players to bolster the league's success, but not all manage to excel. Of the foreign players Kotoko signed, only three, Mbella, Fabio Gama, and Mukwala, truly impressed me. The rest failed. The club must strive for better."

He also expressed criticism towards the head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogun, questioning his ability to utilise these players effectively.

“These players [Foreign] need better coach to perform but Ogun is not good enough.”

Taylor's critique comes in the wake of Kotoko's disappointing performance in the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League season, which has sparked widespread criticism from fans and sports commentators alike.
