Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has said the door for nationality switch has not been shut on Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah.
The duo has been on Ghana's radar with the Ghana Football Association reportedly engaging them over a possible nationality switch but the players are yet to make their decisions.
Otto Addo asserted that he is open to accepting the two English-born players in the team whenever they are ready to pledge allegiance to Ghana.
“The door is still open for Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah, but it is always about quality,” he said during a press briefing on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Nketiah, in a recent interview, expressed that he is considering playing for the Black Stars due to his Ghanaian roots.
“Obviously, my parents are both Ghanaians, and I’m from a Ghanaian heritage. It’s a possibility, I’m open to both, whether that’s playing for Ghana or England as well,” he said on the Beautiful Game podcast.
“I’ve played for the England youth teams, so obviously when I was younger they called me up to go and play for them.”
Callum Hudson Odoi, on the other hand, has reportedly stalled talks with Ghana in an attempt to settle in his club career after battling a series of injuries.
