Hasaacas Ladies Assistant Coach, Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah, says his team is in good shape to kick off their 2024 WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

The Ghanaian champions are set to face Burkinabe side Omnisports Etincelle today, Sunday, at the Stade de la Paix de Bouaké in Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite a grueling journey to Abidjan by road, which allowed the team only a single training session upon their arrival on Friday, Mensah remains upbeat about the team’s readiness.

“We had a very long journey. The first phase of the training was focused on helping the players recover. It was relatively easy on the girls, and they responded very well.

“We then moved into a phase that was more game-related, and again, they responded very well.

“The final aspect involved focusing more on tactics. Throughout all the phases, all the girls responded well after almost two days of missed training due to travel.

“We have managed to address this deficit, and we believe the girls are now in good shape to play tomorrow's game.”

Mensah is stepping in for head coach Yussif Basigi, who is currently occupied with preparing the Ghana U20 female national team for the World Cup in Colombia.
