Former two-time bantamweight world champion Joseph 'King Kong' Agbeko has named his fight against Colombian boxer, Yonnhy Perez as the best of his career.

In an interview with GhanaWeb Sports, he mentioned that the fight was also his most memorable because "the glory doubled" after the victory.

He said reclaiming the IBF bantamweight title from Perez after previously losing it to the Panamanian made the win particularly special.

"I will say the second fight against Yonnhy Perez. It was a very memorable one because I lost the title to him and then I took it back. It added up to the glory. I felt the glory when I won it for the first time, then I lost it. So when I won it again, it doubled the glory. I will say that was my highest height," he said.

Joseph 'King Kong' Agbeko lost the title to Perez in an epic bout rated as the fight of the year in 2009 before dethroning the then-undefeated Colombian in yet another electric bout in Tacoma, Washington, USA in 2010.

Abegkp reclaimed his title scoring 115-113, 116-112 and 117-111 on all three judges to secure the belt again.

He shared his reflection on the bout after attending the Street 2 Champions boxing tournament at Centre Point Mall on Saturday, November 16, 2025, which featured his nephew Benedict Baidoo.

Baidoo, who made his professional debut, defeated his opponent in round three via technical knockout.
