Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey believes his colleagues can deliver the goods in Turin even though he will not be part of the second leg of the last 16 clash against Juventus in Italy.
Partey, 25, will miss the return leg in Turin after picking a yellow card in their 2-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on February 20.
When asked about his side’s chances against the Star studded Juventus in the second leg, Partey was confident that his team mates will secure qualification into the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions league.
“We have a strong team with tough mentality, so I know the guys will fight hard to do the job in Italy”.He told Ghanacrusader.com.
Partey has made six appearances so far in the Uefa Champions league this season and would be looking to return in the quarter finals but not until his colleagues accomplish the huge task in Turin.
The Ghana international made his debut in the competition in 2016 at the Camp Nou and has since grown in confidence in every season of the competition.
With a UCL runners up medal already, the lanky midfielder would fancy adding a Champions league winners medal to his cabinet.
Atletico Madrid will head into the clash with Juventus on the 12th of March with a two goal advantage and cannot afford to blow away this big chance of qualification.
