Ghanaian International Kwasi Appiah has hailed his Ghanaian teammate, Thomas Partey, as a hero "world class".

The AFC Wimbledon striker in an interview with the BBC on his readiness for a call up to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, touched on sensational Spanish giant Atletico Madrid star, Partey. Revealing that, he is a great player who is needed for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt.

Partey recently went viral with his stupendous right foot strike against Alaves in the Laliga Santander. A long-range strike that propelled ATM to maintain the second position of the log. That was not enough, as the versatile player made his presence count on the field when they faced Messi's FC Barcelona.

The talented player was the discussing point across Europe, on his intelligent way of handling the ball and dealing with pressure.

Appiah believes such form is what all the players need to possess ahead of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

"Thomas Partey is world class. You can see his quality, you can see why he's a wanted man".

"The guy is a sensational talent. And the team as a whole should be in a much better place ahead of AFCON", he added.

A youth product of Atletico Madrid, Partey made his first-team debut for the Spanish giants back in 2015 and has established himself as one of the key players at the Wanda Metropolitano. He spent time on loan at Almeria and RCD Mallorca in his earlier days but the 25-year-old has now become one of the mainstays of the club’s midfield.

Meanwhile, Ghana ahead of the AFCON has been paired alongside Cameroun, Benin and Guinea Bissau in Group F of the 2019 AFCON. All four teams will play their matches at the Ismaily Stadium in Egypt.
