With a total of 39 matches, four goals and four assists for both club and country in the 2018/2019 season, Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is Ghana’s best player.

At a beautiful awards gala held at the Marriot Hotel in Accra, the 26-year-old beat off competition from Black Queen forward Abdulai Mukarama and Kotoko’s Felix Annan to retain the title he won last year.

Partey was also adjudged the best foreign-based player for his performance with Atletico Madrid last season.

The midfielder starred for Atletico last season and experienced more minutes on the field than he did in previous seasons at the club.

Abdulai Mukarama was recognized with the Future Star and Best Female Footballer Awards for her exploits for Ghana’s Black Maidens at the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The youngster’s incredible display for Ghana earned her the golden shoe of the tournament as well as a promotion to the Black Queens.

For guiding Kotoko to the Money Zone of last season’s CAF Confederations Cup and winning Tier 1 of the NC’s Special Competition, coach CK Akunnor was crowned the coach of the year while Kotoko were named the team of the year.

In the Best Goalkeeper category, Kotoko’s Felix Annan edged past Nana Bonsu and Richard Ofori to claim the title.

Joseph Esso’s breathtaking strike against Dreams FC in the NC Special Competition was adjudged the best goal of the year.

A public voting that accounted for twenty percent and an electoral college that wielded eighty percent of voting power were used to determine the winners of the various categories.
