Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey says that the English Premier League would be an option for him if he were to leave the Spanish side, Atletico Madrid.

Partey, 25, has been one of the key figures in the Rojiblancos set-up since returning from a loan spell at Real Mallorca.

He churned out 33 appearances and netted 3 goals for Madrid-based outfit as they finished the season behind FC Barcelona in the LaLiga.

The Ghana international has been mooted with a move away from the Wanda Metropolitano following his swashbuckling season with Diego Simeone's side.

"At the moment, I am happy at my club," Partey began, "but in football, you never know when and where you'll be in the next day or year," he told KweséESPN.

"The Premier League is a good league, it's very competitive and has some of the best players in the world," he added. "Hopefully, one day. I would like to play there."

Partey acknowledged that he was open to proposals about his future, with his profile having been raised by his fine campaign with Atleti. As well as starring in midfield, he also stepped in at right-back and full-back for the Rojiblancos.

"My agents are on it so I will leave everything for them," he added. "For me, I am happy playing football and I will continue to play where I am now until something comes up for consideration."

Partey was recently named Ghana Player of the Year at the maiden Ghana Football Awards - which was held at the plush Marriott Hotel in Accra.
