Three-Day Justify-Your-Inclusion for Cyclists

The Ghana Cycling Association is to organise a three-day justify-your-inclusion exercise for cyclists from six regions of the country for selection to represent the country in Cote d'Ivoire's La Route de L'est competition.

Six cyclists would be selected after the exercise to take part in the competition, which has been slated for June 5 through to 17.

One cyclist each from Brong Ahafo, Northern, Volta and Eastern regions and two from the Ashanti as well as 28 from the Greater Accra Region made up of four each from seven clubs would assemble for the Friday to Sunday exercise.

Mr Francis Kpesenu, Secretary General of the association told the GNA in Accra on Tuesday that, in all, the cyclists will cover a distance of 180 kilometres from three strands - the individual ride of 60 kilometres, hill ride of 120 km and 90 km for speed road ride.

He said the exercise is scheduled to kick-start from Adenta through to Dodowa, Ayikuma, Larteh, Manfi, Akropong, Adukrom, Aseseso, Somanya and back to Adenta.
