Thrills at PM Sports Tennis in School program

Osu Presbyterian Basic School also took part in the program Osu Presbyterian Basic School also took part in the program

Over 100 children from Osu Presbyterian and surrounding clusters of schools participated during the introductory Tennis-In-Schools-Program held at the school training park by Peter Mensah Foundation (PM Sports).

Aspiring Tennis Stars between the ages of 7 to 10 years in class 3 and 4 were ushered into the basic rudiments of the sport to help them build on their skills, self-confidence and socialize with friends for the long run.

Coaches introduced Mini Tennis to participants and took them through the basics of the game. Children used mini versions of equipments such as the softer balls, smaller racquets and mini nets.

After the one-day event, coaches and authorities of tennis took turns to inspire, instil discipline into the future Stars and also advise them to take their education seriously.

The long-term program is being put together by PM Sports in collaboration with the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) and Ghana Education Service(GES).

Speaking to CEO of PM Sports, Peter Mensah said, " I am happy GES has understood our initiative and this is officially the start of our Tennis-School-Programme. Our plan is to continue spreading Mini Tennis throughout all Government schools in Ghana and promote the sport.

“Tennis has been proven to be the best sport with significant benefits individually and nationally. It's important we promote and educate all generations to start enjoying this amazing sport” Peter Mensah stressed on.

Tennis-In-Schools-Programme is also up and running in Agona Nsaba and Dwakua municipalities of the Central region of Ghana. We are preparing to start our Koforidua sessions in 2 weeks and then Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo region in 3 weeks.
