Braimah Braimah

Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko, - the controversial Heavyweight boxer, has called on the government to invest more in the development and promotion of boxing in Ghana, since it has the potential to win more international laurels for the country.

“Without any form of disrespect to football, boxing has brought more honours to Ghana, than football.

“We have over the years won ten world titles, whilst football is yet to give us any significant trophy.

“Bukom Banku” who until recently was undefeated and most popular boxer in Ghana, before losing miserably to Bastie Samir, said, there was the need to take a look at the juvenile and amateur boxing in the country, to unearth more young talent for the future.

According to “Bukom Banku” boxing was the only spot that gave Ghana a medal at the last Commonwealth Games in Australia, adding that, Ghana currently boasts of ten world titles.

“Boxing can also attract tourists to the country and create employment opportunities for youth, especially those on the streets,” he added
