Current continent soccer powerhouse, the Black Stars will make a strong case against their Mexican counterparts in their international friendly at the Craven Cottage stadium, in London, this evening.
The clash is the Stars' first international match after grabbing bronze in the 26th Africa Cup of Nations held in Ghana some weeks ago.
Most certainly, it offers the Ghanaians a fine opportunity to avenge the 0-1 deficit they suffered at the hands of the same side played in the US, ahead of their maiden World Cup campaign. For the Ghanaians, the opportunity has presented itself for them to let the world know why they are still a force to reckon with and number one on the African continent.
The Stars lost just a game against Cameroun in the just ended Nations Cup on home soil to finish third, and this is what makes them favourites in the friendly.
Happenings from the camp of the Ghanaians indicates that Stars' French trainer Claude Le Roy, will use tomorrow's game to access their chances in their World Cup qualifier against Libya in Kumasi. Although the Mexicans have fine players as Carlos Salcido,PSV Eindhoven;Nery Castillo, Manhester City; Giovani Dos Santos of Barcelona. The partnership of Chelsea's Michael Essien and Staebak's Anthony Annan in the heart of the game will provide more striking options for Junior Agogo, Andre "Dede" Ayew, Quincy Owusu Abayie and debutant Eric Bekoe.
Another newcomer, Richard Manu will be expected to partner France-based John Mensah in the defence, with support services from Eric Addo, John Paintsil and Germany-based Hans Adu Sarpei, to provide cover for goalkeeper Richard Kingson.
