Medeama coach Tom Strand has rubbished reports linking him to the vacant Hearts of Oak coaching job.

The 33-year-old, named Coach of the 2015 Ghana FA Cup competition at the Awards Gala held on Friday, says he’s focused on seeing out the remainder of his contract, having joined the side in January.

“There’s no reason to get excited about anything,” Strand told Nhyira FM.

“It’s just a rumour and I have one more year contract with Medeama.

“We have worked for one year and we have achieved this much. I think that we can develop this game more and I will be happy to develop the game one more year with Medeama.”

The Swedish manager, who formerly coached Bechem United, reiterates his desire to head the Black Stars in the future.

“Coaching Ghana is one of my biggest dreams and hopefully it’s positive somehow,” Strand added.

“Everything depends on the situation, and when the time comes, I’m ready to take it from there. I am happy with the GFA.

“The FA Cup and Coach of the Year success is proof that I have done something good this year.”

Strand led the Tarkwa-based side to a 12th finish in the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League and will represent Ghana in the 2016 Caf Confederations Cup courtesy their FA Cup victory.
