Accra, Jan 8, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has postponed the third edition of the Top Four Tourney dubbed "Coca Cola Top Four" scheduled for January 11 to January 17.
In a statement signed by Mr Kudjo Fianoo Administrative Manager of GHALCA said the postponement is to enable the sponsors of the tourney get the right "mileage" and benefit by the of adequate pre- tournament's communication in the media.
The statement said due to the pre tournament development, their sponsors had not benefited from the mileage but noted that the postponement will not in anyway affect the quality of sponsorship for the tournament.
Meanwhile GNA Sports has gathered that Kumasi Asante Kotoko who opted out of the tournament following the failure of GHALCA to meet their demands of 400 million cedis participation fee among others will now take part in the event.
The decision according to our sources was taken after the major sponsors, Coca Cola Company Limited had a marathon meeting with GHALCA on Thursday afternoon on the withdrawal of Kotoko from the tourney. The decision by Kotoko to take part in the tourney put GHALCA in a tight corner, as our information indicates that last minute replacement Berekum Arsenals will fight to the tooth for a fat compensation if it happens that they have to give way to the defending champions.
