The chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (Ghalca) Alhaji Raji has told Goal Ghana that this season’s Top Four competition will be very exciting.
The Ghalca Top 4 Tournament is slated for September 1-11 and will feature the top four teams of the 2012/13 season of the Ghana Premier League.
There have been concerns that the off-season club competition has lost its spark due to organisational challenges with teams usually threatening to pullout coupled with low patronage.
However, Alhaji Raji is quite optimistic of a successful competition this year, saying all is set for the commencement of the tournament.
“We have virtually sealed all our organisational problems and we are patiently waiting for the launch of the Top 4 in Kumasi on August 15th 2013,” he said.
“So far we have met the four clubs about three times and they all look set to make the competition very competitive this year and there have not been issue of pulling out from them, and I can assure you that the Top Four is coming on and will be one of the most competitive and exciting tournaments in Ghana.”
Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama SC and Ebusua Dwarfs will participate in the competition.
