Instrumental Ghana midfielder Torric Jebrin says he was dumbfounded by the news of the departure of his father Hossam Mido as the head coach of Ismaily.

The young Ghanaian midfielder had enjoyed a successful guardianship under the technical leadership of the former Egyptian international who he has always referred to as a father.

The departure of Mido, even though imminent, has taken the former Hearts of Oak wonder kid by surprise and he admits that it has really affected him.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GHANAsoccernet.com, Torric recounted the good days he had with the former boss, saying his departure has really left him devastated.

“Yes Mido was just like a father to me. He is the best coach I have ever worked with. When I learnt that he has finally resigned, I felt sick but I knew it was part of the game. His departure was clear because he had hinted that he would leave,” Torric said.

“ I wish he had not resigned but he had already made up his mind. I paid him a special visit in Cairo and we spoke. Am not happy about his departure but I can choose him as the best coach in my career now.”

Torric Jebrin has been the most influential midfielder for the former African champions leading the list of top assist in the Ismaily side.
